LETTER TO THE EDITOR
British laws, Acts, and attitudes which angered American colonists and ultimately led to the declaration of Independence. American colonists used newspapers to voice opinions in the form of “letters to the editor”.
Your assignment is to submit a “letter to the editor”. Your letter will be from the point of view of a British Loyalist. You will defend the British government, its laws, acts, and attitudes, and encourage your fellow colonists to be loyal to Britain.
Be as specific as possible. Please provide at least three examples of laws or acts which you find are fair to the American colonist. The time period of this letter should be around 1776.
