CURRICULUM DESIGN PROJECT: DESIGN, DISCUSS/EXPLAIN AND JUSTIFY A LANGUAGE CURRICULUM YOU HAVE DEVELOPED FOR A 10 WEEK TERM FOR A GROUP OF SCHOOL LEARNERS
Design a 10-week learning program for a group of learners.
Design, discuss/explain and justify a language curriculum you have developed for a 10 week term for a group of school learners. You are not required to create the materials for this curriculum.
Task guidelines
In table form, write a 10 week term overview of your curriculum, using the template provided. Then, write a 1000 word essay explaining and justifying this overview using the principles of curriculum design you have learned. Explain and justify each of the components of the overview. You must reference your essay with index citations and provide a reference list of at least 10 relevant and/or recent works by different authors).
Purpose: The purpose of this assignment is to apply the academic knowledge you have learned to date. The evidence of this knowledge and understanding lies in the curriculum you design and justify. It should be learner-centred and reflect different aspects of communicative/task-based approaches in addition to other approaches that you can justify (e.g. audio-lingual; grammar-translation; silent way etc)
