Based on your reading of Jones (and
supplemented by the Lyon text) what obligations does a medieval king
have to himself, his kingdom, his family and friends, to his posterity?
Do you, and does Jones, find the actions of Richard I justified? Were
his actions toward the rebellious subjects appropriate?
Do you find yourself siding more with the rebellious subjects or with
the boy-king, and why? This response should not be based on which you
liked better in today's world, but rather based on considerations of the
rules of legitimacy and authority of the time.
