This assignment is due Friday by 8pm  January 5, 2018. This is a discussion with a minimum of 200 words 

In this module, you about the selection and importance of a theoretical orientation in counseling and psychotherapy. OF equal importance is to incorporate your theoretical orientation into practice. Assignments in this module were designed to guide you toward increased insight into the importance of theoretical orientation, how theoretical orientation and the advantages and disadvantages of empirically validated therapies, and steps to increase your self-awareness so that you may initiate a  process of theory development. Another significant goal of this module was to help you develop a timeline for successful completion of the major assignment in the course, which is a  theoretical orientation development plan paper, due later in the course (see weekly schedule on the syllabus). 
Tasks:
  • As counselors-in-training develop knowledge and skills their theoretical orientation becomes a “tool belt.” Using your reading as a guide, identify and discuss the relevance of two specific “tools” you would include in your “tool belt.” Include information from the chapter readings to support your response.

Submission Details:
  • The initial DQ post is due in the Discussion Area on Friday, January 5, 2018 .You must post your initial response to the DQ prior to reading your classmates posts. Responses to the discussion question should be well developed and focused, specifically address each component of the question, include information from readings, relevant information and examples to support your writing.
