2. Follow the instructions provided to:
(a) complete your own Teaching Perspectives Inventory (TPI),
(b) obtain your own TPI results and Summary of Five Perspective
(c) download and print out your TPI Profile Sheet and Summary Sheet
*Note: In the group selection, select the drop down “No, I am not a member of any of these groups”
3. Open a new Word document. Copy and paste your TPI profile (ideally just the summary results received by e-mail or just the first two rows of the full profile as in the example below):

Note: if you cannot copy and paste your TPI profile, prepare a word document similar to the chart above and fill in your scores.
3. Reflect in writing on your profile, 300-400 words. Specifically, try to address at least the following questions:
How consistent is your TPI profile with how you see yourself and your teaching? With how others see your teaching?
Do you think that your perspectives might vary depending on the instructional setting (e.g., class, lab, or clinic), the courses you teach (or courses you would like to teach) or the audience/learner characteristics? Give an example of such variation.
Do you think that your TPI dominant/recessive perspectives influence how you plan and design student instruction? Give an example.
Can you relate these perspectives by example to the management of the following common instructional concerns:
having students acquire and retain information?
getting students to think critically?
motivating students?
encouraging self-directed learning?
